EVENT DETAILS

March of Dimes Ambassadors of Health Breakfast focuses on advancing efforts to lift up communities, ensuring all Moms to have access to care, protecting the health of families and creating health equity.

During the program, we will recognize outstanding public servants, community and corporate leaders for their contributions in making a visible difference in our communities now and for generations to come.

Our goal is make New Jersey a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy. Through this event, we will celebrate those who share this mission.

We are honored to be recognizing the following individuals for their contributions.

Tammy Snyder Murphy has served as the First Lady of New Jersey since 2018.
On Maternal Health Awareness Day 2019, First Lady Tammy Murphy launched Nurture NJ, a statewide awareness campaign committed to reducing maternal and infant mortality and ensuring equitable care among women and children of all races and ethnicities. This campaign focuses on improving collaboration and programming between all departments, agencies, and stakeholders to make New Jersey the safest and most equitable place in the nation to give birth and raise a baby.
Additionally, First Lady Tammy Murphy has held an annual Black Maternal and Infant Health Leadership Summit for the past three years, bringing together experts from across the state to discuss and identify solutions to New Jersey’s maternal and infant health crisis. Over 150 participants were present at each Summit, ranging from doulas, providers, health systems, elected officials, nonprofits, activists, moms, state departments and agencies, and more.

Dr. Susan Nicholson, VP Women's Health at Johnson & Johnson, is responsible for a team of experts who are shaping women centered science-driven innovation to improve the health of women.  A key priority is maternal health equity.  J&J has a long history in mother and baby care dating back to the very early days of the company.  While J&J has contributed to improving maternal and child health around the globe for more than 100 years, maternal morbidity and mortality is still too high with 50% or more of these events being preventable. Collectively, J&J with external partners are reimagining how we can develop and deliver science-based, effective and equitable solutions to mothers and healthcare workers to minimize preventable injury.  Not only is this imperative for mothers, but impacts her infant child for life, her family and her community.
