“We congratulate Dr. Rahul Gupta on his Senate confirmation to be Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy for the Biden Administration. While at March of Dimes, Dr. Gupta served as the Chief Medical and Health Officer and Interim Chief Science Officer, advocating for policies and programs to treat and prevent substance use, focusing on the care and safety of pregnant women and infants. Prior to joining our organization, Dr. Gupta gained national recognition as a leader in West Virginia, combatting the opioid crisis. As the first physician to be nominated to lead the White House Office of National Drug Policy, his on-the-ground expertise will bring a wealth of knowledge to the office.
